Flora Tristán
Flora Tristan, a feminist and socialist, writes of her fifteen months travelling in Peru in 1833. The book is a precious historical document of nineteenth century Peruvian society, its customs and usages, social injustices, and the wars of that time. It was this South American experience that led Flora Tristan to take the side of the weak and the underdogs for the rest of her life.
